PNS - 신형 GTs 레이싱 휠 거치대

PNS의 이번 제품은 Logitech G25 Racing Wheel의 쉬프터 유닛을 장착할 수 있도록 개선한 것으로 기본 골조는 이전 제품과 동일하다. 쉬프터 유닛을 위한 브라켓이 추가되고 페달 받침의 위치가 개선되었으며 휠 앞쪽에 모니터 받침을 옵션으로 장착할 수 있게 되었다는 것이 차이점이다. 또한 G25의 각 유닛을 나사로 견고하게 부착할 수 있도록 배려한 것도 장점이다.
특히 이번 제품 설계를 위해 동호회를 통해 사용자들의 의견을 물었다는 점은 칭찬할 만한 일이다. 쉬프터 유닛의 위치를 두고 많은 이견이 있었는데, 최종적으로는 핸들에 가까운 위치가 선택되었다. 부품 수를 줄이기 위해 어쩔 수 없는 선택이었는지는 몰라도 취향에 맞게 위치를 바꿀 수 있도록 가변적인 설계를 했으면 더욱 좋았을 것이다. 좀 더 욕심을 부리자면 사용자의 체형과 취향에 맞게 조정할 수 있도록 거치대의 각 부위가 좀 더 유연한 모습이었으면 좋겠다.
국내에도 레이싱 시뮬레이터에 대한 관심도가 높아지면서 관련 시장이 생겨나고 있다. 이제 막 개척되는 분야인 만큼 출시되는 제품에 아쉬운 부분이 남는 것은 어쩔 수 없는 일 같다. 언젠가 좀 더 완성도 높은 모습으로 전세계의 레이싱 시뮬레이터 팬들을 매료시킬 만한 제품이 개발되길 기대해본다.

By the way, it is said that the Korean launching date of PS3 is June, 13th. Phew it’s too late here, isn’t it? Let’s get busy then.

The cost of this new chassis is the same like the VPP: 650 € + shipment (the VPP RRP cost now 640 € + shipment).
I have been looking it well, and it likes to me more than the VPP RRP. This have an adjustable support for the gear knob, and it is independece of the mouse base. The mouse base can be used also for the gear knob (for example, for secuential use, and the original for H shift).
I see this chassis have a hand brake, but I don´t know if it is included in the chasis, and I suppose It is only for PC games.
The wheel and the monitor seems reinforced and prepared to support more weight than the one of the VPP, and the pedal base is bigger than the VPP RRP one, and have a system to fit the pedals with no need to drill although personally it would fix all the parts of the G25 with drills and screws.
Probably, if today I had to choose one chassis (without being able to prove them), it would be this.
About the Korean launch of PS3, I think is not too late.
Really, you are going to have the same problem like me with the console: I believe that you are not going to have any game to play.
You are a racing game´s enthusiastic, and this console have already not racing games. I think you will get tired of GT HD in few days, Motorstorm is not a racing game (and don´t support force feedback, and I don´t know if it support racing wheels). The only one is Formula One, and don´t support force feedback…
I spend whole weeks without igniting the console and when I ignite it it is for playing GT4 (a PS2 game… ¬_¬), and sometimes the Ninja Gaiden demo.
I think that it would give you just like Sony launch the console in October

You’re right. Even if I buy a PS3 right now, I can’t get proper racing titles or any other block buster. Probably, all I can play for a while will be GT4 like you. Well, and I already got a Ninja Gaiden.
